Huntingdon Players represent County
Following on from the fantastic summer our young players have had a very strong winter.

In the 8&U county championships both Leon Kewney and Sophie Price reached the finals at Hills Road, Cambridge on January 8th.
Sophie Price and Sam Evans were chosen to play for the county in a friendly against Norfolk at Easton College on December 10th 2011. Both players won 4 matches, with the Cambs boys and girls teams winning their matches overall.
Jack Thorndike (18) and Eilish Mackie (15) represented the senior county teams in the AEGON Winter County Cup, a National event held at various venues around the country in November 2011. The mens team played in Division 3 and had some very close matches, but were unfortunate to finish 4th in their group against Sussex, Leicestershire and East of Scotland.
The ladies were in Division 2, and played very well to finish 2nd against Warwickshire, Bucks and Northumberland.

Mini Club Matches
On Sunday 5 February, the Club hosted a 9 & under Mini Orange Team event. Huntingdon and Cambridge LTC both entered teams of 4 players, although on the day Cambridge entry was reduced to one team due to the snowy weather.
The three teams all played each other, singles and doubles, and there were some very good quality and closely fought matches, most of them going to 3 sets. In the end Cambridge were victorious by just one match, winning 8 with Huntingdon ‘Murray’ team coming 2nd with 7 wins. Huntingdon ‘Djokovic’ team had 3 wins, and were very unlucky to lose a few very close matches.
All the players tried their hardest and were a credit to the club; special mention to Matthew, Oliver and Natasha for winning their singles.
