The Road To Wimbledon National 14 and Under Challenge is the UK’s largest national junior grass court tournament. 13 year old Sophia Rolt won both the Club and Cambridgeshire county rounds to qualify for the main tournament held at Wimbledon.

Sophia had two good wins in the qualifying rounds to go forward into the main draw reaching the top 32 in the country where she was unlucky to be drawn against the number 4 seed Kim Schmider from Cheshire who was two ratings higher than Sophia.

Sophia said that it was a fantastic tournament and she was delighted to be able to have the opportunity compete in the tournament again this year following last year’s disappointment when she had to retire due to a back injury. She said I learnt so much from the tournament and it was amazing to play against some of the best players in the country.
