LTA Tennis East Champions League Winners !

Congratulations to all of the 8 players who represented Huntingdon Tennis Centre Hotshots at the LTA Tennis East Champions League finals held at Framlingham college on Saturday July 12th. The finals matched the strongest six club teams from Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk against each other at both Mini red and orange level.

In the boys red event, the team of Matthew Anscomb, Oscar Bryden, Ben Grant and Daniel Price all played very well and came a very creditable 4th. This is a great achievement, especially as 3 of the team are eligible to play in the red event next year!

In the girls orange event, both Huntingdon’s teams had won through from the county finals. Millie Kennedy and Megan Potts (Huntingdon B) did well to win one match against strong opposition all round, but were just squeezed into 6th place on points.

Anna Traherne and Abby Hanson (Huntingdon A) put in a great performance, winning all their matches and taking 1st place and the champions league title!

Many congratulations to them, but also a big thank you to all the players for their efforts and to the parents and club members who came along to support the teams.
